By a caucus of Precinct Committeemen held on August 20, 2008, Susan Bodkin was elected on the first ballot to fill the vacancy in the office of Hancock County Surveyor.  Ms. Bodkin received 25 out of the 31 votes cast.

Thanks very much to the candidates, Precinct Committeemen, Vice Committeemen and Republican supporters who participated in the caucus.  Altogether, more than 90 Republicans attended the caucus.

On August 20, 2008, Chairman Michael Griffin appointed Janice Silvey to serve as Treasurer of the Hancock County Republican Party. 

Janice fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Libby Manship, who recently was elected as Chair of the Hancock County Young Republicans.

On August 28 and September 2 and 4, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m., volunteers from the Hancock County Republican Party will operate a phone bank for Republican candidates.  This phone bank will take place at the Greater Greenfield Chamber of Commerce, One Courthouse Plaza, Greenfield.  We need volunteers and, if you are interested, please contact Michael Griffin at 317-374-4544 or at mgriffin@kdlegal.com.  We have 4 landlines and will use cell phones to supplement the landlines.

The Greater Greenfield Chamber of Commerce has not endorsed candidates for political office.  Periodic use of space at the Greater Greenfield Chamber of Commerce is made under a rental arrangement based on the length of time and the regularity of using the space.  The rental fee is based on actual time and days used.
